Dr. Kelsi Toews Ph.D.

Dr. Toews completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Saskatchewan in 2021. From 2020-2021, Dr. Toews completed a pre-doctoral residency in Clinical Health Psychology at the University of Manitoba in the Max Rady College of Medicine. She further completed a post-doctoral fellowship with Stanford School of Medicine, in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Child Development. Dr. Toews is a member of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) and is registered with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists.

Dr. Toews’ practice focuses on evidence-based treatment and assessment of child and adolescent mental health concerns, as well as assessment and treatment of perinatal mental health concerns for pregnant and post-partum parents. Dr. Toews utilizes an integrative approach and works collaboratively with clients, families, and other treatment providers. She has received training in and draws from a variety of evidence-based treatments including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), and Parent Management Training (PMT). She also utilizes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills training (DBT-ST), self-compassion, and Mindfulness in her practice.

Dr. Toews further offers comprehensive psychodiagnostic and psychoeducational assessments for children and adolescents ages 8-18, who present with learning challenges, behavioral challenges, mental health concerns, and difficulties with inattention and hyperactivity. She collaborates closely with families and schools to identify children’s specific strengths and areas of difficulty in order to provide diagnostic clarity and detailed recommendations on how best to support your child.
